The idle hangs when I rev up. So when I rev, it will go up and then hang for a second then drop down. Also, when starting the car cold, the idle will raise up to 2k somewhat fast, then drop really fast then goes back up to 2k. The times when my idle is good, the idle would go up more controlled then move down and settle at 1.5k to warm up.

You can reset the idle air control (IAC) valve by turning the car on, putting the car into park, pressing the brake down, then pushing the gas pedal down, counting down about 5 seconds, turning the car off, waiting 10 seconds and start the car again, checking to see if the car is idling properly. This only happens when the engine is warm and I'm completely stopped. The engine idles normally, and when the A/C compressor kicks on, the idle then drops to where it sounds like the engine is about to stall, then the idle increases, then it bogs down again, increases, etc. As soon as the compressor clicks off, then the idle returns to normal. Yes, you should be running and warmed up. Turn on the A/C and put the blower on it's highest setting. When the compressor kicks on, you should hear a click. Thats the clutch engaging. and you can see the center of the clutch spinning. There are two pipes coming into the compressor.
The target idle speed is programmed in an ECM look up table and varies depending on inputs from the A/C and NSW signals. Any time actual speed varies by greater than 20 RPM from target idle speed, the ECM will adjust the IAC valve position to bring idle speed back on target. The ECM utilizes a feedback idle air control strategy.
